Abstract

This paper presents and evaluates some of the tendencies and concepts that, in geographical science, guided studies and epistemological perspectives in the definition of an “analysis object”. Its main objective is the analysis of the notion of “space organization”, which is still present today in geographers’ vocabulary, as well as the analysis of recent proposals such as “spatial planning” and “territory use”.  It is important to rethink the proposition, the use, the implications and the inheritance of such concepts and projects in order to create opportunities for more generous analyses which are able to devote to Geography a central role among social sciences.
