Abstract

The method of environmental assessment, called "Method of contingency," contributes to the landscape valuation centered in space and subject. From the valuation of the landscape may be more information to show whether or not the need to retain certain municipal areas and at the same time, make a plan for occupation of public policies in areas that cause less impact to the natural environment. This analysis was done in light of the value of use of the residents of sheets, Mucugê, Palmeiras, Andaraí, Ibicoara- Bahia and tourists, linked to individuals who actually exercise power - local merchants and business tourism. As theoretical reference is incorporated the approaches of production space of Lefebvre in which he defines that space is produced in the size of the designed, lived and perceived, associated with the DAP for the conservation of the landscape. From the questionnaires applied, it was difficult to induce individuals to reveal their true willingness to pay for environmental assets, at the issue and the possibility of exploitation that comes from the collective environmental conservation. KeyWords: economic valuation; method Contingency; space (conceived, perceived and lived).
