Abstract

This article analyzes the interactions between ecotourism and agriculture in the municipality of Caiapônia (GO), located in the Cerrado biome, with a focus on the tensions between environmental conservation and the economic use of the territory. Based on a qualitative approach and a case study methodology, the research combines bibliographic review, document analysis, cartographic production, and field observations. The study addresses the challenges of transforming natural potential into a sustainable tourism product, highlighting the lack of planning, the informality of tourism practices, and the expansion of agribusiness as limiting factors. The analysis reveals contradictions between the discourse of sustainability and practical reality, emphasizing the importance of public policies, community participation, and adequate infrastructure for strengthening ecotourism as an alternative for territorial development.
