Abstract

Financialization is a process with broad consequences in various spheres of social life and is directly related to the process of economic globalization. A central agent in this process are the financial funds. The objective of the present work is to analyze the process of financialization associated with the formation of the Rio de Janeiro-São Paulo mega-region. This analysis is based on a survey carried out on the website of the CVM - Comissão de ValoresImobiliários. In the site of this agency information was collected referring to all the financial funds existing in Brazil, being a total of 3141 financial funds in activity in Brazil. Based on this matrix with data about the financial funds we carried out a series of analyses, mainly the analysis of the location of these funds in relation to the Rio de Janeiro X São Paulo mega-region.
