THE IDENTITY WITH THE PLACE: SOME REFLECTIONS ABOUT CUYABÁ SETTLEMENT – CANINDÉ DO SÃO FRANCISCO/SE

Abstract

This article has the purpose of reflecting about the identification of the families with the Cuyaba settlement. For so we had to identify some very important elements such as the existence of family ties on the assessment. The perception about the presence of families and their desire to remain in the settlement as well the reasons that contribute with the identification with the place and that makes possible to explain the wishes for this families to remain there. To get an explanation about this ,it has been make a field research in the period from August to November 2007 by application of questionnaires in 48 families who lives at Cuyaba settlement, in order to contemplate, among other questions of the research ,those who refers to the discussion of this article, The results of the analysis reveals that t he most of family who lives at Cuyaba has some family ties among then and wishes to remain there ,in the place where they have constructed their identification. In the spite of existence of some parents in the settlement and the importance of then in the perceptions of the families, a major identification with the PA can be affirmed by the conqueror of the land and the possibilities of producing in their own land can be seeing by the pleasure of living and the desire of continuing living at the PA.
