Abstract

The research on carbon monoxide (CO) concentration was carried out in three avenues of the District of Mariano Melgar in 2019. The objectives were: a) To quantify the concentration of carbon monoxide in the months of July, August and September in three avenues (Mariscal Castilla Avenue, Argentina Avenue and Peru Avenue) during the hours (06:00 to 08:00 h and 17:00 to 19:00 h) and b) To compare the concentration of carbon monoxide. The in situ measurement method has been used through the use of CO sensor, in different avenues, blocks, months, sampling schedule and the elaboration of maps of vehicle rearrangement. The results were as follows: There is a higher concentration of CO on Avenida Mariscal Castilla with 2.33 mg/m3 of CO and the lowest concentration was recorded on Avenida Argentina with 0.37 mg/m3 of CO. The highest concentration was recorded in July with 1.69 mg/m3 and the afternoon hours recorded higher concentrations with 1.59 mg/m3 of CO.
