TERRITORIES OF MISTAKE: AN ANALYSIS OF TERRITORIAL NETWORK GYPSY IN BAHIA, WITH FOCUS ON CITIES OF GOVERNADOR MANGABEIRA AND CRUZ DAS ALMAS

Abstract

This article intends to analyze the gypsy territoriality in Recôncavo from Bahia, focusing the municipal districts of Governor Mangabeira and Cruz das Almas, and the territory as a base concept of research in its relational aspect, which requires the territorial relations of power projected on a reference substrate. The gypsy territoriality is understood in this study as multiscale, and its analysis permeated by urban and regional scales. The concept of territory was selected precisely to underpin an analysis of relations of power exercised by gypsies in the working. It was still observed the several relationships among the gypsy groups located in several municipal districts, which define an adapted space of larger scale, being configured it territory-net. As methodological procedures were used crosses between qualitative and quantitative methods, with the support of the New Cultural Geography. Key-Words: Territory, Network, Gypsies, Culture.
