Abstract

Abstract The present paper has attemped to analyse two aspects of the electric energy distribution net. The first focused on the different ways of access to eletricity according to and depending on the sites, and it such places are connected or not connected to the distribution net. The second aspect has to do with how the electric energy is cosumed, how this consumption is organized and has been evolving. Two geographical regions were studied. The southeast of the state of Pará, area of recent settlement and which is linked to the hydroelectric plant of Tucuruí (HEP); and the low-Tocantins, and is of old settlement, and which is not connected to the electric distribution net and which gets electricity from dieselectric plants (DEPs). This dissertation has put emphasis on the association between the electric distribution net, the urban net and the nets of road infra-structure to the electric net that the cities began to develop, creating their own dinamism, changing the way consumption was organized and modifying their roles and position in the regional urban net. That roles and position in the regional urban net, that was the case, for instance, of Marabá, in the southeast of Pará, and may be the case of Cametá, in the low-Tocantins, whose conection to the electric net of Tucuruí took place in 1998. Key words: electric energy, territory, net.
