Abstract

This article aims to bring a discussion about the female’s prisional spatialities using the argentine movie Leonera (2008) as basis of analysis. In some years the images produced by the movies have attracted the attention of geographers who affirm that the movies are characterized as na interesting bias of analysis for Geography. The prison space, even neglected, shows itself as an rich field of investigation, since it behave the most dynamic and diverse practices. For the vast majority of the audiecne, one of the only ways to connect with the prison spatiality is made by movies like this that we reviewed. This shows, especially the importance of films in various aspects of our daily lives, and also, their relevance to scientific analysis. We used some proposals brought by the Feminist Geographies, mostly the discussions related to the concept of gender, to discuss about the female’s prison space, arguing in the same way, that the spatialities are experienced in antagonistic way by different individuals. We concluded that the prison space built for the film is dynamic, molded from singular elements, such as power, violence, friendship and motherhood.
