Abstract

From the cut of the two major centers of pilgrimage party in the state by the number of participants: São Cristóvão and Divina Pastora. This article aims to show what was found on those aspects of religious tourism in Sergipe. The methodology used was literature with the theoretical contribution of tourism and religious tourism, popular religiosity, identity, culture, space, sacred and profane, party and procession, backed up by field research. With the study was found that the demand profile of people moving to these two villages, is characterized by much pain/suffering, in the request or thanksgiving for a grace/cure, than the pleasure of traveling.
