Abstract

This study has the objective to show some reflections on the Kalunga community. It examines three researched communities: Engenho II, Vão de Almas and Vão do Moleque. Through the literature review as well as the oral history and observation, it was possible to perform the work and understand the lifestyle of the Kalunga. The study reveals they have a close relationship to the local place concerning the images, the neighbors, the traditions, the values, beliefs, the social relations and production, and the cultivation of their crops, which follow the natural cycle of the Cerrado.
