The riverine community in the Southwest region of Bahia in Itambé has undergone changes in their lifestyle. These changes in the reorganization of space riverine promote the dismantling of their cultural practices, traditional knowledge, values and daily collective built by interfering in the preservation of identity and territoriality riverside. Upon hearing them, it was observed to be present the characteristics that identify them as such and still keeps alive the memory and history that have built around it. The Rio Pardo is the largest element of symbolism in the landscape and the perception of them is backed by the world view permeated by its waters.
