Abstract

The metropolitan reality emerges as complex and dynamic on the national scene. While it is a relatively recent phenomenom, has structural problems of urbanization old Brazilian, considering that currently, the Brazilian urbanization has also largely in its major metropolitan centers of their achievement In this discussion, we consider the nature of the metropolitan area and his complex character in the brazilian reality in general and in particular the metropolitan region of Belem. Thus, it explores the social production of space underground Belem, highlighting the metropolitan socio-spatial training, their internal dynamics and trends, as well as the practices of urban planning and management over the process of urban ongoing.
