As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The manuscript is original (unpublished) and is not being submitted to publication in another journal.

  • All authors are registered in this system and have manifested, by the corresponding author, consent about the submission, assuming knowledge of the Editorial Policy and Copyright Notice adopted by this journal.

  • The manuscript was prepared in perfect accordance with the Guidelines for Authors, available in the About the Journal section.

Author Guidelines

Submissions are exclusively made on-line, through the website http://www.revistas.ufg.br/index.php/artce/index, where authors must register.

Authors may only submit Scientific Articles. Manuscripts destined to the sections Essays, Review Articles, Interviews, Lectures, Diary of the Set and Workshop on Scenic Construction are only published at the request of the Editorial Board. If you would like to publish in these sections, please contact the Editorial Board.

For articles written by more than one author, all authors must sign a document expressing their agreement concerning the submission, editorial policy and norms for publication. This document must be submitted as a supplementary file by the correspondent author (if authors live in different cities, more than one document can be added to the system). If pictures are used, a consent form must be signed by the photographer and also submitted as a supplementary file by the correspondent author.

While submitting a manuscript, the correspondent author must also attest, in the name of all authors, the originality of the paper, that it is not being submitted simultaneously to other journals, and that it is in accordance with the format required for files, as well as with the copyright policies which will be applied if the manuscript is published.

Manuscripts must be written in Portuguese or English and present, in Portuguese and English, Title, Abstract (100 to 200 words) and Key-words (3 to 5, separated by a semicolon). No author identification should be present in this document.

Manuscripts may contain from 8 to 25 pages, with text written using Word for Windows (maximum size of 2MB, .doc version), A-4 paper size (210 x 297 mm), with 2.5 cm margins, single column and double spaced. The font should be Times New Roman, 12 points. All pages and lines must be numbered. Acknowledgements and information related to the title of papers, as well as the authors’ names, along with their respective affiliation, address and e-mail address, detailed in numbered footnotes, must only be inserted in the final corrected version of the manuscript, after it is definitively accepted for publishing.

Citations must follow the NBR 10520:2002 norm, written by the Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas (ABNT) (eg.: SVOBODA, 2012, p. 100). Direct citations with more than three lines must be detached from the text (4.0 cm from the left margin, no quotation marks and font 10 points). Secondary citations should be avoided, as well as the following sources: article in a preliminary version (in press or preprint) or from a serial publication that is not peer-reviewed; summary of a paper presented in a scientific event; oral communication; information from poster sessions or panel discussions at a scientific event; private communications of unpublished documents; e-mails; or private sites on the Internet.

References must be arranged by listing the authors’ last name in alphabetical order, according to the NBR 6023:2002 norm, written by the Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas (ABNT). Italics must be used to highlight titles and periodical titles cited in full.

Pictures and figures must be identified by using Arabic numerals and presented in low resolution in the body of the manuscript. If the article is accepted for publication, TIFF files, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi, must be sent to the journal. Terms such as “the picture above/below” must not be used. Tables must be drawn in black and white, using single lines, 0.5 point thickness (Microsoft Word for Windows standard). Videos may also be added to the manuscript.
