Abstract

In this essay, Lúcia Fabrini de Almeida makes a critic presentation about the new book by Rustom Bharuscha, Terror and Performance, published from Tulika Books, at Nova Delhi. After a general presentation of the intentions of the publication, the author goes through referential stretches of the book intertwining them with potent reflections based in her ideas and establishing important dialogues with texts of Laura Rita Segato.

Lúcia Fabrini de Almeida, Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo. Perdizes, São Paulo - SP, Brasil.

LÚCIA FABRINI DE ALMEIDA é pesquisadora da área da literatura e da mitologia, e das relações interculturais entre Índia, Brasil e América Latina. É autora dos livros: Topografia Poética: Octavio Paz e a Índia (São Paulo: Annablume, 1995) e O Cabeça de Elefante e outras histórias da mitologia indiana (São Paulo: Cosac&Naify, 2002). É doutora em Comunicação e Semiótica (1987), com a tese (A) Inteiração Lua/Sol no Lance de Dados do Espelho Interior (Uma Leitura do “Mito Solar” na Versão Mallarmaica de Quatro Contos Indianos, sob orientação do Prof. Dr. Fernando Segolin, defendida na Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo.
