Call for papper to the Special Issue "ART, EXTENSION, AND SOCIETY"

The Revista Arte da Cena opens a call for submissions for works to be included in its second Dossier in 2025. The theme will be related to the fields of Art, Extension, and Society in their interrelated aspects that have enabled exchanges of knowledge between University Teaching, Research, and Extension with Society and vice versa.

In this vein, the Art, Extension, and Society Dossier propose to give visibility to the reflections produced in Extension in line with the tripod of Teaching, Research, and Extension that constitutes Brazilian Public Universities. Could this university tripod not be seen as a mosaic, a vortex, and therefore be more dynamic and less static? Could Art present in our undergraduate courses also not be more dynamic in relation to other teaching structures such as postgraduate studies?

What we propose in this dossier is that researchers can contribute in a more expanded way, encompassing the diversity existing in this field, as well as looking at Art within the University and its relations with Extension, enabling connections and contexts that flow in multiple directions where Extension, Teaching, and Research communicate with Society and with the Art produced in the University environment.

This call is for an academic, artistic, and collaborative adventure. We have decided to shed light on experiences that always occur in many layers, in layers of affectivity, encounters, pluralistic, pluriaesthetic, and dialogical exchanges.

This thematic dossier aims to disseminate the experiences of University Extension that occur as formative, integrative, and investigative places. Through University Extension, it is possible to develop actions in an indissociable way, sharing and producing knowledge with society, and in this sense, this dossier aims to disseminate the extension practices that already take place in our Universities.

Our intention in this dossier is to disseminate the diverse and different experiences of Brazilian University Extension and, as we know, Extension is one of the pillars of the University, and as places of belonging to Teaching and Research, it contributes to human formation and the development of citizenship and society.
