This article examines how the iconic materiality of poetry written on paper and painting on canvas expresses a transuasive movement. Mainly based on concepts discussed by Charles Peirce (2010), Donis Dondis (1997), and Fayga Ostrower (1998, 1987), the analyses reveal that the operation from the iconic to the transuasive in poetry and painting occurs through the physical response of the receiver reacting against the work. This obsistence in the act of reading as gesture and movement made it possible to categorize the transuasive movement into endophoric and endoexohporic. This process becomes the driving force of the operating cognoscibility in the iconic materiality.
