Dispositivo, atração e os rubes da realidade virtual: uma abordagem teórica do Oculus Rift

From a presentation of the resurgence context of virtual reality viewers, specifically the Oculus Rift headset, the article seeks to reflect on the condition of the device as a vision machine as it approaches the reflections of Phillipe Dubois (2004) and Jean-Louis Baudry (1970). This allows us to think of the Oculus Rift in its connection with social devices (practices, discourses, modes of consumption) that determine its intended uses. Finally, it is possible to think of these uses in analogy with a specific modality, conceptualized by Thomas Elsaesser (2006) as "cinema of attractions", characteristic of First Cinema, namely the rube films.
