Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • As part of the submission process, authors are required to check the conformity of submission for all the items listed below. Submissions that do not comply with the rules will be returned to authors.

     

  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word format.
  • URLs for the references have been informed if possible.
  •  The text is single-spaced ; uses font  12- points; employs italics, rather than underlining ( except for URL addresses); figures and tables are inserted in the text , not at the end of the document as attachments .
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines , on page About the Journal
  • In the event of submission to a section with peer review ( ex .: articles ) , the instructions available in Ensuring blind evaluation by peers were followed .
  • Minimum degree: Specialist.Undergraduates may publish together with their (their) respective advisor.
  • Todos os autores e coautores devem enviar a Declaração de Autoria.
  • São aceitas submissões de artigos com, no máximo, 05 (cinco) autores.
  • Graduandos podem publicar em conjunto com seu (sua) respectivo orientador(a).
  • Cada autor poderá publicar apenas um artigo por ano.
  • Não é possível acrescentar o nome de outros autores após a publicação do artigo.
  • O(s) autor(es) fica(m) ciente(s) que o artigo (manuscrito) passará por um software verificador de plágio.
  • Quando houver mais de um(a) autor(a), deverá ser enviada a "Declaração de Contribuição em Co-autoria", conforme modelo disponibilizado na página.

Author Guidelines

Papers can be written in Portuguese, Spanish, English , French or Italian  and must meet the following standards:

 

1. Texts must be original. Their republication is allowed only in foreign journals and books.

 

2. All submissions must conform to the following formatting rules :
 
 a) Format : only files with extension .doc
 b ) paper size: A4 ( 297x210mm ) ;
 c ) margins: left and top - 3 cm ; right and bottom - 2 cm ;
 d ) Times New Roman font : size 12, space between lines 1,5 cm , justified paragraph and without hyphenation ;
 e) paragraph indent : 1.25 cm from the left margin;
 f ) article title : source in capital letters, size 12 , centered, bold. Article 's subtitle : source in capital letters, size 12 , centered.
 g ) abstracts and keywords: Times New Roman, size 12, single spacing , justified paragraph without hyphenation .
 h ) if there is division into sections : the titles of each section in lower case, only the first letter capitalized , size 12, bold, left alignment. For each section , skip a space.

 

3. Maximum length for articles : 15 pages , including references and attachments.

 

 4. The originals must also contain the following data, according to the sequence indicated:
 a) title in Portuguese, with its translation into English and Spanish; or in the foreign language the article was written with its translation into Portuguese and English or Spanish. If the study was previously presented as communication or conference, an asterisk affixed to the title should refer to a footnote, identifying the event and specifying its date and place;
 b) after the title, the text must be accompanied by a summary in Portuguese and another in English. Between the end of the text and references, add a summary in Spanish. Each of these abstracts must have 100-250 words;
 c) the keywords (maximum five) must accompany each of the abstracts (in Portuguese, English and Spanish);
d) To ensure the integrity of the blind assessment by peers, care must be taken that the identity of the authors is not revealed during the process. So authors should take some precautions with text and document properties:

 

I. Articles should be sent without the author's name and no biographical or explanatory notes that may allow identification of the author;
 II . When the article makes reference to the author's own work ? enabling thus their identification ? the quotes in the text and in the References should come as in the following examples. Example : AUTHOR (2004); AUTHOR (2009).
 III . In Office documents , author identification should be removed from the document properties ( in File> Properties> Tools ( or Options in a Mac) > Security Options or details > Remove personal information file when saving > OK > Save. In PDF authors' names should also be removed from Document Properties, in File in the main menu of Adobe Acrobat .

 

5. Present the references in alphabetical order at the end of the text as in the examples:
a) book with an author: AUTHOR'S LAST NAME, Author's name. Book title in italics. City of publication: Publishing company, year of publication.
b) Book with two authors: AUTHOR'S LAST NAME, Name; AUTHOR’S LAST NAME, Name. Book title in italics. City of publication: Publishing company, year of publication.
c) Book from three authors: AUTHOR'S LAST NAME, Name et al. Book title in italics. City of publication: Publishing company, year of publication.
d) Book Chapter: AUTHOR'S LAST NAME, Name. Chapter heading. In: AUTHOR'S LAST NAME, Name, book title: subtitle if any. Edition number. City: Publishing company, year of publication. Page number or range used. - If the author is the same of both book and chapter: AUTHOR`S LAST NAME, Name. Chapter heading. In: ______. Title: subtitle if any. Edition number. City: Publishing company, year of publication. Page number or range used.
e) Articles in periodicals: AUTHOR'S LAST NAME, Name. Title of the article (no box), Journal title (in italics), volume and issue of the journal, page numbers, date of publication.
f) Proceedings: AUTHOR'S LAST NAME, Name. Article title: subtitle if any. In: NAME OF THE EVENT, event edition number, year of the event, the city of the event. Type of publication (Annals or Summaries or Proceedings), City of publication:  publishing Institution, year of publication. P. (first page - end of the article).
g) Internet: AUTHOR'S LAST NAME, Name. Title: subtitle if any. Available at: <complete URL>. Access in: day, month (abbreviated to the third letter, except May) year.
h) Thesis: AUTHOR'S LAST NAME, Name. Title: subtitle if any. Defense year. Total number of sheets. Thesis (Doctorate in 'developed area') - College Name, University Name, City of the institution, year of publication.
 
6. The bibliographical references in the text should be summarized to the author's last name , the date of publication of the book and to the page when necessary, as the example : ( NUNES, 2008, p . 32 ) . If the author's name is cited in the text, one indicates in parentheses only the date and page.

 

7. Quotations with more than three lines should be indented to the left of 4 cm, reduced to size 11 , simple spacing between lines and separate from the body text with a space before and one after . Quotations with less than 3 lines should be incorporated into the text in quotation marks : " ....." .
8. Use italics for emphasis in expressions, foreign words and titles of books and periodicals . Do not use bold .
9. notes ( should be avoided or minimized ) enter in the end of the article . References to the " Endnotes " must be made by numbers, placed on the top line spacing.
10. All papers submitted for publication will be submitted to the Editorial Board, which has full authority to decide on the desirability or otherwise of its publication and may suggest changes.
11. The concepts expressed in the papers are the sole responsibility of the authors.
12. As part of the submission process, authors should verify compliance of the submission with respect to all the items listed above. Submissions that do not comply with the rules will be reported to the authors as well as works that are not approved by the reviewers for publication.

 IMAGE PUBLICATION

For image publication is necessary that the submission be accompanied by permission for publication by the holder of its copyright.
 
QUOTES
For quotes, Sinalizar Magazine adopts the author-date model , the NBR 10520 , 2002 of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards ( ABNT) .

 

 REFERENCES
For references, Sinalizar Magazine adopts as the parameter the NBR 6023 , 2002 of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards ( ABNT) .

A aceitação final dos artigos depende: (1) da recomendação dos pareceristas; (2) da reformulação do texto feita pelos autores, conforme sugestões dos pareceristas; e (3) da aprovação final pela Comissão Editorial e pela Comissão Organizadora do Dossiê.
