MIOCARDITE MALARICA POR P. falciparum

Os autores trabalhando em região para onde drenam pacientes que vivem era áreas endémicas de malária, estudando o material de 4 autópsias, descreveram os achados ao nível do miocárdio.Encontraram uma miocardite predominante serosa e bloqueio capilar severo por hemátias parasitadas.
Usando colorações para gordura e o HBFP, não observaram isquêmias, idênticas às do infarto do miocárdio.
