CRUZAMENTOS ENTRE "CULEX PIPIENS FATIGANS WIEDMANN", PROCEDENTES DE DIFERENTES PARTES DO BRASIL

Cora o objetivo de verificar a existência de possíveis incompatibilidades entre populações do Culex pipiens fatigansno Brasil, foram realizados cruzamentos de mosquitos de colónias obtidas nas seguintes localidades: Teresína,
Aracaju, Niterói, Belo Horizonte, Almenara, Pirapora e São Paulo.
Dos cruzamentos realizados, foram obtidos híbridos; isso parece demonstrar que as populações de Culex pipiens fatigans das áreas consideradas pertencem a um grupo cujas características evolutivas não atingiram o nível de isolamento reprodutivo ou não são portadores, de microrganismos do tipo rickettsía encontrados por YEN e BARR (1971).
