Abstract

Em assembleia realizada na cidade de Havana (Cuba), em setembro de 1952, a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) definiu o Saneamento em termos claros, precisos e conceituais:
"SANEAMENTO é o ramo da Saúde Pública destinado a eliminar
os riscos do ambiente natural, sobretudo os resultantes da
vida em comum, e criar e promover nele condições ótimas para a Saúde".
