A new case of human bertiellosis is reported in an eight year-old male child, who lived in the rural area of the Caeté municipality, in Minas Gerais State. The child presented with a history of periumbilical abdominal pain, hyporexia, vomiting, diarrhoea, and holocranial headache. White flat structures were found in the child’s stool. In the parasitological stool examination, hookworms, Rodentolepis (=Hymenolepis) nana, and Bertiella sp. eggs were identified. Proglottides found in the stool specimen were identified as being of Bertiella sp.Downloads
