Abstract

The results of sandfly collection with Falcão and Shannon traps, from 53 localities
of 19 municipalities, in Paraná State, Brazil are presented. Overall, 27,441 sandflies
were captured belonging to 13 species; there was a predominance of Nyssomyia
whitmani among them. A higher concentration of sandflies in the domestic animal
shelters and woods was found.
