A importância dos trabalhos de E. P. Thompson para as ciências sociais é bem conhecida, muito por seus estudos acerca da cultura popular e do entendimento de universos sociais históricos os mais diversos. O objetivo do presente artigo é analisar possíveis conexões entre conceitos fundamentais de Thompson e de B. Malinowski e C. Lévi- Strauss, entendendo mais especificamente a idéia de “vida social” do primeiro, fortemente influenciada pela dos dois últimos. Palavras-chave: E. P.
