Migrations and representations of hospitality in Europe
DOI:

Based on a literature review on the theme of migration, this article aims to recognise and problematise representations of hospitality based on the documentary Fogo no Mar (2016), by Gianfranco Rosi, and the novel Eu Vou, Tu Vais, Ele Vai (2018), by Jenny Erpenbeck. The aim is to identify the archetypes of guest and host, problematising host relationships and recognising markers of openness and closure to the "other", while at the same time questioning the European view of the
"other" from the global south. Both works are seen as representations of the so-called "refugee crisis" in Europe.
