The debate about the quality of the political representation is permanent and required in order to improve its concept and use. Survey data show that the population mistrusts its representative institutions, what may constrain democracy. This paper aims at reviewing the contemporary debate on the representative system, especially the representativeness of political representation, the distance between constituents and representatives and how the former see politics and its players.Downloads
