Abstract

O professor Lopez y Rivas é antropólogo e professor-investigador do Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (México), do qual foi diretor (1980-1984); tem doutorado na Universidade de Utah; foi assessor do governo da Nicarágua em questão indígena e autonomia (1980 a 1990); membro da Comisión de Concordia y Pacificación (Cocopa) do Congresso Mexicano, assessor do Exercito Zapatista de Libertação Nacional (EZLN); é articulista do periódico La Jornada, autor de 18 livros e várias centenas de artigos. Tem sido professor-visitante e conferencista em universidades de vários países.
