Abstract
A tradução a seguir está baseada em uma das transcrições da conferência proferida por Michel Foucault na Tunísia, em 1971, no Clube Cultural Tahar Haddad. Desde seus trabalhos dos anos 1960, o filósofo esboçava escritos sobre pintura, e dentre os interesses suscitados por essa conferência sobre Manet está seguramente o fato de que teria sido esse o único material de maior fôlego deixado por Foucault acerca do trabalho do pintor.
