Relationship between element and associated milieu in digital art

Abstract

This paper will analyze the process of technicity within digital art, especially within interactive video installations. It is based on four of Simondon’s key concepts: the element, the associative milieu, transduction and information. The process of adaptation between elements and their associative milieu will be considered as emergent spacetime where neither the elements nor the associative milieu are prefigured to the process and the result is information as it is translated from one technology to another through the process of transduction.
