O texto aborda o devir da pintura, seu lugar entre outras formas de arte e na vida sócio-cultural. Ao discutir a relação da pintura com o tempo, é dito que a crença num futuro para ela está condicionada a uma transformação permanente, com o que é possível construir um presente ininterrupto. Desenvolvida a partir de noções deleuzianas, esta reflexão sobre o vir-a-ser pintura da pintura procura contextualizá-la numa cultura visual cada vez mais identificada às máquinas do ver (vídeo, fotos, hologramas). Nesse âmbito, pensar a pintura como materialidade e metamorfose contínuas, um vir-a-ser exógeno, estrangeiro ao seu próprio território, significa explorar a pluralidade de seus agenciamentos possíveis.
