Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the methodology used in the planning and execution of the Legal Empowerment project “Fla sim pa Mudjer: women united preventing gender-based violence in Cape Verde”, developed by two organizations from the Global South: Themis Gênero, Justiça e Direitos Humanos (Brazil) and Associação Cabo-Verdiana de Luta contra a Violência Baseada no Gênero (Cape Verde). We will address some of the dimensions of this transnational partnership, which faces
challenges in translating feminist theories, legislation and practices, focusing on approaches related to the methodologies involved in the project’s interactions and negotiations. The research was carried out
from October 2022 to October 2023, based on fieldwork and document analysis. Guided by a knowledge policy based on a situated perspective and anti-colonialist and anti-racist approaches to feminist practices, we identified, through action research, the foundations of feminist pedagogy used in the construction of the common agenda around the prevention of gender-based violence.
